Wilde About Arts

Wilde about Arts is a group for young children aged 11 to 16 that do not have access to the arts due to circumstances beyond their control. It offers children the freedom to experiment with a variety of art techniques and mediums and to also a non judgemental environment in which to express their thoughts and feelings through art.

The course is free so as to make it as accessible as possible and it is funded by other courses run during the summer months by Mark Hooper, Head of education at South Hill Park Bracknell.

I recognised that the arts often reach children that are from backgrounds that afford the time and money to enjoy shows, galleries and are fortunate enough to have the opportunities to take part in some of the activities. Reaching the right people and those who are most in need can be a real challenge, but when you do the results are often amazing.

Wilde about art activities include:

  • Painting and drawing
  • Batik and tie-dye
  • Printing
  • Stencilling
  • Pirography
  • Collage
  • Felt making
  • Story creation
  • Colour theory

…and so much more.

Wilde about art is set in South Hill Park and is part of the South Hill Park Charitable Trust:
Charity number 265656
